Small Town Criminal is an isometric action-shooter game in which the player navigates a small town while on the run from the police.
Spawn Zones: Upon entering certain areas of the map, items will be spawned and/or despawned from the level. This helps to ensure the player only sees items in their immediate view, and allows the use of doorways to break up sections of the level. Checkpoints for the player to respawn in the relevant area are also set through these Spawn Zones.
Weapon Pickups: The player equips a Projectile that can be fired with the Space bar to defeat enemies.
Boost Pickups: The player gains a speed boost and increases their damage for a short amount of time.
Ammo Pickups: The player regains Ammo.
Health Pickups: The player regains Health.
Shooting Enemies: Stationary police cars will fire projectiles toward the player, dealing a small amount of damage.
Boss Enemy: The Chief of Police serves as the final boss in the game. These enemies use a Navmesh 2D (sourced from h8man on GitHub) in order to pursue the player within a confined area of the map.
